Customs Officers with the assistance of Gardaí have seized €5million worth of cocaine in Fermoy, Co. Cork.
Gardaí, Customs and Interpol carried out the joint operation in the Bartlemy area of Fermoy at around 04:15pm today.
The warehouse was raided where the cocaine was found and two men were arrested at the scene.
One Irish man aged 45
One German man aged 56
Following the raid another three people were arrested in other searches related to the incident.
Two Irish men aged 42 and 65
One Hungarian aged 46
The container arrived at Cork Port from Rotterdam and is reported to be part of a large drug trafficking gang spread across Europe.
The men are being held in Cobh, Crumlin, Terenure and Midleton where they are being detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Act.
