Gardai have arrested four men in connection with a shooting incident at Gormanstown, Co. Meath resulting in the death of a man this afternoon.
The shooting occurred at approximately 2.30pm at The Huntsman Inn, Gormanstown, Co. Meath.
The victim was a suspected Dissident Republican, report the Irish Independent. He was in his late 30’s and lives in Co. Louth, approximately 30km from where he died.
He had been one of ten people arrested by detectives as part of raids in Co. Louth, Wexford and Waterford in which firearms, ammunition and bomb-making equipment were found and confiscated last year.
The men arrested today are being detained at a number of Garda stations in North Dublin.
