The Central Criminal Court has today heard that a man living in
Monaghan violently raped his partner of six years after a night out together.
He pinned her down by the throat and threatened to kill her before continuing with the attack on a settee in their kitchen.
The mother-of-one believed that she was going to die.
The 34-year-old man, who has received treatment for alcohol abuse, told gardaí what he had done was disgusting.
He will be sentenced for rape on Monday, July 16.
