Garda National Property Recovered Day

In an effort to reunite property recovered by An Garda Síochána with owners and to provide support to victims of crime, a Garda National Property Recovered Day will take place on Thursday 22nd September 2016.

While most property recovered by An Garda Síochána is immediately returned to its owners, particularly in the recovery of property stolen in the course of theft and burglaries, there are cases where An Garda Síochána is unable to identify the owner and the property remains in Garda custody.

Members of the public are invited to attend selected Garda stations, in each Garda Division, where photographs of property in Garda custody can be viewed. In addition the public will be able to avail of the services of Crime Prevention Officers and Victims Services at selected stations.

Property will also be available to view on line via the Garda website www.garda.ie

€90k of Cannabis seized in Kildare

As part of Operation Thor, Gardaí from the Kildare District assisted by the Regional Support Unit carried out a number of searches across Kildare from 7am on Friday 9th September 2016 to 4am on Sunday 11th September 2016.This operation consisted of eleven searches of private residences and a number of arrests. Over €90,000 of Cannabis Herb was seized (Subject to analysis).
Files will now be prepared for the information of the Director of Public Prosecutions in relation to the arrests.

Twenty two checkpoints were also carried out by Gardaí and the Taxi Regulator across the Kildare District over the same period of time resulting in a number of road traffic offences being disclosed. Two persons were arrested and detained on suspicion of carrying out burglaries in the Kildare District. They have since been released without charge and a file will now be submitted to the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Missing girl from Clondalkin

Gardai in Clondalkin wish to seek the public’s assistance in tracing the whereabouts of 16 year old Lauren Larrissey.

Lauren was last seen in Clondalkin on the afternoon of the 2/09/16. She is described as being approximately 5’5” in height with long fair hair and blue eyes. When last seen she was wearing blue jeans, a grey jumper and blue runners. She is known to frequent the Kilkenny City, Tallaght and Clondalkin areas.

19-year-old missing after Electric Picnic

Caelob O’Neill 19 years who was missing from Stradbally, County Laois has been located safe and well.

Gardaí are seeking the public’s assistance in tracing the whereabouts of 19 year old Caelob O’Neill missing from Stradbally, County Laois since Monday 5th September 2016.

Caelob was last seen at the Charlie Chaplin Campsite, Electric Picnic on Monday morning 5th September 2016 shortly after 9am. Caelob is described as being 5’10” in height, of medium build with short brown hair and brown eyes. When last seen Caelob was wearing a black jacket, dark navy bottoms, a multi coloured t shirt, Dunlop wellingtons and light coloured waterproofs.

Renewed appeal for missing Nathan Kelly 14

Gardai in Clondalkin have renewed their appeal for information in tracing the whereabouts of 14 year old Nathan Kelly.

Nathan was last seen at approximately 2.40pm. on Friday the 22nd July, 2016 on Neilstown Road, Clondalkin, Dublin 12. He is described as being 5ft 6′ in height, brown hair with a quiff and of skinny build. When last seen he was wearing a blue zippy top and grey tracksuit bottoms.

Missing 14-year-old Shauna O’Brien

Gardaí wish to seek the public’s assistance in tracing the whereabouts of, 16 year old, Shauna O’Brien who is missing from her home at Monastery Grove, Enniskerry.

Shauna was last seen on the 28th July, 2016 at around 10pm in Dublin city. She is described as being 5ft 11, slim build, blue eyes, fair to light brown shoulder length hair. When last seen she was wearing dark blue jeans, a check pink and grey shirt and a navy jacket.

Man shot in Walkinstown

Gardaí are at the scene of in incident at a scrap yard on the Greenhills Road, Walkinstown which occurred at approx. 11:35am.

A man aged in his early 40s received an apparent gunshot wound during the incident.

It is reported the suspect entered the premises armed with a shotgun and fled the scene on foot.

The victim has been taken to Tallaght Hospital were his condition is unknown at present.

It is believed that the victim was not the intended target.

14 Puppies seized at Dublin Port

Gardaí conducting duty at Dublin Port stopped a car on Promenade Road at approx 12:30 on 03/08/16 which was being driven by a man in his early 20’s.

Within the boot of the vehicle were 14 puppies of various breeds contained in 2 small metal containers. The dogs did not have access to water or fresh air and were being transported in a dangerous manner.

No valid documentation were produced and the dogs were duly seized for alleged cruelty. The D.S.P.C.A. was contacted and it is believed that the value of the dogs is in excess of €17,000 which were expected to be sold in the U.K.

The dogs were then transported to Store Street Garda Station and were surrendered to the D.S.P.C.A. The dogs were healthy but will require to be monitored for a number of days and will be then put forward for adoption.

Summons will be issued in relation to this matter.

13-year-old Christopher Healy missing

Gardaí at Bailieboro Co Cavan wish to seek the public’s assistance in tracing the whereabouts of 13 year old Christopher Healy.

Christopher was last seen at approximately 1.30pm today (21/5/16) as he left his home at Drumacarrow Co Cavan to cycle into the town of Bailieboro.

He is described as being approximately 4’ 6’’ tall with brown hair. When last seen he was wearing a high visibility jacket, grey tracksuit bottoms, black and gold Asics trainers. It is also believed that Christopher was wearing a cycle helmet.

Body of man found in Tallaght

Gardai in Tallaght are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the body of a male in his 40’s at a house in Ellensborough Lodge, Tallaght at approximately 4.30am this morning.
The scene has been preserved for a technical examination. The office of the State Pathologist has been notified.
A Post Mortem is scheduled to take place this afternoon in Tallaght Hospital and the results will determine the course of the investigation.
