60,000 ecstasy tablets seized in Inchicore

60,000 ecstasy tablets, herbal cannabis, cocaine and heroin has been seized in Inchicore.  The drugs are believed to be worth €650,000.

Two men, aged in their 50s and 30s, were arrested.  They are currently detained at Kevin Street and Kilmainham Garda Stations under section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 2006.

Female arrested in relation to the murder of Alan McNally

A 47-year-old female has been arrested in relation to the murder of Alan McNally.

A planned search was carried out in Finglas this morning with members of the National Bureau of Criminal Investigation, the Organised Crime Unit, the Divisional Search Team and the Garda Dog Unit.

The woman is currently detained at Finglas Garda Station under section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007.

McNally, 36, was shot dead in the Cappagh Nua pub in Finglas in the early hours of last Friday morning.

A search is continuing on waste ground at St. Margarets, Co. Dublin.

Man arrested in connection with murder of Ciaran Noonan

A man in his 20s was arrested this evening in relation to the murder of Ciaran Nooan.

The man is being detained at Store Street Garda Station.

He is the 12th person to have been arrested in connection with Mr Noonan’s murder.

Mr Noonan’s body was discovered in Co Meath on the 4th of November 2011.

He had been missing from Russell Avenue, East Wall in Dublin since the 20th of October 2011.

 

Two men arrested for dissident republican activites

Two men in their 30s have been arrested as part of an ongoing investigation into the activities of dissident republicans.

Gardaí from the Northern Division, assisted by members from the Special Detective Unit carried out an arrest operation in north County Dublin this morning.

The men were arrested under section 30 Offences against the State Act, 1939.  They are currently detained at Clontarf and Raheny Garda Stations.

Man arrested in relation to death of a child 11 years ago

A 52-year-old man has been arrested in relation to the death of 12-year-old Stephen Hughes Connors in 2001.

As a result of an ongoing investigation, new evidence came to light resulting in the arrest.

He is being detained at Tallaght Garda Station under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

Hughes Connors was killed in a fatal fire at Rossfield Avenue, Brookfield on the 1st of September 2001.  Hughes Connors and a 14-year-old friend were sleeping in a makeshift hut made of pallets, doors and carpets.  At around 5 am it was set alight.

Woman seriously assaulted in Rialto, man arrested

A man has been arrested after a woman was attacked in Dublin in the early hours of yesterday morning.

The 28-year-old victim suffered serious head injuries during the incident which happened at a house on Reuben Walk in Rialto.

The woman is being treated at Beaumont hospital.

A man in his 20s is being questioned at Kevin Street garda station under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

The scene of the incident has been preserved for a technical examination.

Three men charged in relation to drugs find

Three men appeared at Kilkenny District Court yesterday, charged in connection with a drugs find in Freshford last week.

Gardaí at Waterford, assisted by the Garda National Drugs Unit searched a house in Freshford, County Kilkenny last Wednesday.  A cannabis cultivation facility together with sophisticated watering, heating and lighting systems were uncovered.

A number of cannabis plants at various stages of maturity were discovered with an estimated street value of €80,000.

Three men were arrested aged 46, 49, and 53 years under section 2- Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.  They were detained at Waterford and Tramore Garda Stations.

The three men appeared at a special sitting of Kilkenny District Court on Sunday afternoon charged in connection with this investigation.

Missing teenager – Paul Bunbury

Gardaí in Whitehall are seeking the public’s assistance in locating 19-year-old Paul Bunbury.

Paul was last seen on the 2nd of February in the DCU campus, Collins Avenue at approximately 3.30 pm. He is described as being 5’10” in height with brown eyes, long brown hair, of thin build and having a beard.  When last seen he was wearing a grey casual jacket, blue jeans and a blue t-shirt.

Missing teenager – Neidin Kearns

Gardaí in Coolock are seeking the public’s assistance in locating 16-year-old Neidin Kearns.

Kearns was last seen on the 31st of January at approximately 8 am in Dublin city centre.

She is described as being 5’5’” in height with brown eyes, black shoulder length hair and of slight build. She may be wearing skinny jeans , a black leather jacket, brown hiking boots and have a black and white Guess hand bag.  She may also have travelled to the Monaghan area.
