A 43-year-old Tipperary man was murdered in Florida on Saturday night.
Tom Walsh, Templemore, was fatally shot as he intervened in a robbery at the restaurant he managed, Main Street Grill at DeLand.
It is believed he was alone in the premises on Daytona Beach when the thief shot him and stole $3,000.
Phil Martin, owner of the restaurant said: “We have a fine police department, and we’re going to catch the guy.”
