Two arrested in connection with murder of Seamus Doherty in Donegal

Two people have been arrested by Gardaí investigating the death of a pensioner in Co Donegal.

The body of 67-year-old Seamus Doherty was found at a house near the village of Churchill in the early hours of Sunday morning last.

A post mortem showed that he died in suspicious circumstances.

Investigating officers last night arrested a man in his 40s in connection with the death, while a woman in her 50s has this morning been detained.

Both are being held at Letterkenny garda station under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
