Man dead after assault in Cork pub

Gardai are investigating an assault incident that occurred at a public house in Mitchelstown Co.Cork on the 1st June 2018 at approximately 11pm. A man in his 30s was pronounced dead at the scene where his body remains. The State Pathologist’s office has been informed and the scene is currently preserved for technical examination.

A man in his 20s has been arrested and is currently detained at Fermoy Garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

An incident room has been set up at Fermoy Garda station and Gardai are appealing for witnesses to contact Fermoy Garda Station on 025 82100.

Female body found in house on the Ranelagh Rd, Dublin 6

Gardaí at Donnybrook in Dublin are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the body a female in a house at Ranelagh Rd, Dublin 6.

The body was discovered at approximately 3.45pm this afternoon. Thursday 15th February 2018. The body remains at the scene and the area has been sealed off for a Technical examination.

The office of the State Pathologist has been notified.

Pictures: Crystal Meth Lab Discovered in Walkinstown

As part of ongoing operations targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs a search operation was conducted by Gardaí attached to the Crumlin Drugs Unit at a premises in Walkinstown. During the search a suspected ‘Crystal Meth Lab’ was discovered.

The scene was preserved and later examined by local scenes of crime officers and a scientist from Forensic Science Ireland who provided on site guidance and advice to Gardaí in securing evidence and identifying toxic materials located at the scene.

Pending analysis, the estimated street value of the drugs seized is thought to be in excess of €450,000. Other items seized include powdered substances, plastic containers, chemical compound, a gas mask, face masks, digital weighing scales, a portable stove, butane gas, plastic funnels and other paraphernalia.

A 50-year-old man was arrested at the scene and is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 at Sundrive Road Garda Station. He can be detained for up to seven days.

The investigation is ongoing an updates will follow.

Fatal Stabbing Ballyfore, Edenderry

At 7.48pm on the 19th of November 2017, Gardai were called to a house on Green Road, Ballyfore, Edenderry, Co Offaly following reports of a man with serious stab wounds. Despite the efforts of the medical personnel the man in his 50s was pronounced dead at the scene.

A juvenile male was arrested in relation to the incident and is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Tullamore Garda Station.

The house is currently sealed off pending the arrival of the State Pathologist and the Garda Technical Bureau who will carry out a forensic examination of the area. The body of the dead a man remains at the scene.

An incident room has been set up at Tullamore Garda Station.

23-year-old shot and killed in Coolock

Gardaí in Coolock are investigating a fatal shooting in Coolock on the 28th October 2017.

The shooting occurred at approximately 2.20am this morning on Moatview Avenue. A male(23 years) received fatal injuries and his body remains at the scene. The area has been sealed off for a technical examination and the office of the State Pathologist has been notified. No further information available at this stage.

Man shot and killed beside Eddie Rockets Citywest

Gardaí are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred at Fortunestown Lane, Tallaght, Dublin 24 at approximately 9.20pm this evening, Monday September 18th 2017. One man aged in his late 20’s, suffered gunshot wounds.

The injured man received medical assistance at the scene but was pronounced dead a short time later. A post mortem is to be arranged.

The scene at Fortunestown Lane is preserved pending a Garda technical examination.

Emergency services are currently at the scene.

Infant Homicide, Poddle Park Area, Crumlin

Gardaí in Crumlin are investigating a homicide of an infant child (male) that occurred this evening, Monday, 10th July, 2017 at approximately 7 p.m. in the Poddle Park area of Crumlin.

An adult female (early 40s) was also injured in the incident and has been taken to St. James Hospital where her condition is described as serious.

The discovery was made when Gardaí were called to a house in Poddle Park. The infant was pronounced dead at the scene.

The State Pathologist has been notified and the Garda Technical Bureau bas been requested to examine the scene. The scene is currently preserved.

An incident room has been established at Crumlin Garda Station.

€37 Million worth of cannabis seized in Dublin

As part of ongoing joint investigations targeting Organised Crime Groups operating in this jurisdiction, a joint intelligence led Operation was conducted by Revenue’s Customs Service and the Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau supported by officers from the Dublin Metropolitan Region.

This investigation resulted in the identification and interception of a consignment which arrived into Dublin. A subsequent search today the 20th January 2017, has resulted in the seizure of 1,873 kg cannabis. The controlled drugs seized have an estimated street value of €37.5 million. Joint Investigations by Revenue and An Garda Síochána are continuing both domestically and internationally with regard to this significant seizure of controlled drugs destined for the Irish Market.
