Gardaí investigating murder of Donegal man Seamus Doherty

Gardai in Millford are investigating all of the circumstances surrounding the death of Seamus Murphy, 67, at Churchill, Donegal on June 17.

His body was was discovered at a house in Drumacnoo near the village of Churchill at 1.50 am on June 17.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and removed to Letterkenny Hospital.

Following a post-mortem examination carried out by the State Pathologist Professor Marie Cassidy, it was established that Mr Doherty had died in suspicious circumstances.

An incident room has been set up at Letterkenny Garda Station and Gardai have begun a murder investigation.

The scene remains preserved pending a full forensic and technical examination.
