Two men involved in armed robbery in Meath

Two men were involved in an armed robbery in Bettystown, Meath today at approximately 1.20 pm.

The men, one armed with a firearm, approached the cash in transit van and demanded money. An undisclosed amount of money was taken.

There were no injuries and both men escaped on foot.

One male was dressed in a blue striped top and black bottoms. The second male was dressed in a dark navy top and black bottoms.

Both wore balaclavas and surgical type gloves.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have been in the area at the time and witnessed this incident or any person with information to contact Laytown Garda station on 041-981 3320, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.
