In a dramatic turn of events early Wednesday morning, Gardaí in Dublin have made a swift arrest following a bold burglary at a retail premises on Clarendon Street, Dublin 2. The burglary, which occurred at approximately 2:45am, resulted in significant damage to the premises and the theft of jewellery valued at over €100,000.
Thanks to the rapid response by Gardaí, a suspect was quickly identified through CCTV footage. The suspect description was disseminated promptly, aiding in the immediate apprehension of the individual by a high-visibility patrol near St. Stephen’s Green. The suspect, a man in his 40s, is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, as investigations continue.
The crime scene alongside the arrest location remains cordoned off pending further forensic investigation. Meanwhile, the recovered jewellery has brought relief to the affected business, as Gardaí demonstrate proficiency and dedication in protecting Dublin’s city centre.
