In a major joint operation, Gardaí and Revenue officers have seized a significant quantity of herbal cannabis, valued at approximately €240,000, in Swords, North County Dublin. The operation led to the arrest of two individuals at separate locations as part of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking.
The seizure involved 12kg of herbal cannabis discovered by Revenue officers, prompting immediate action by the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, in collaboration with Revenue’s Customs Service and the Coolock District Drug Unit.
A man in his 30s and a young woman in her late teens were apprehended and are currently being detained in Northern Dublin Garda stations under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996. The Gardaí reaffirm their commitment to public safety and their dedication to tackling drug-related crime through coordinated efforts and strategic operations.
