Monaghan Man Faces Court Over Human Trafficking Charges Following Garda Operation

A man in his 50s has been charged following an extensive operation conducted by the Garda National Protective Services Bureau (GNPSB) addressing issues related to human trafficking in County Monaghan. The individual is scheduled to appear in front of Monaghan District Court at 10:30 am today, the 11th of June 2025.

The arrest, which took place on the 9th of June 2025, involved the Human Trafficking Investigation and Co-Ordination Unit (HTICU) of the GNPSB. The accused was detained under suspicion of offenses linked to human trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation and forced criminal activities.

The arrest forms part of an ongoing investigation focused on tackling human trafficking networks. Gardaí have encouraged victims of such exploitation to come forward and report incidents, assuring them of support and confidentiality.
